The device also has tamper-resistant construction, ensuring its durability.

The HWL-LF offers automatic selection of 12- or 24-volt operation at 15 and 30 candela, and has field-selectable candela settings on wall units ranging from 15 to 185. The horn is rated at 88+ dBA at 16 volts, and features a rotary switch for horn tone and two volume selections. The device comes with a mounting plate for all standard and compact wall units, and the mounting plate's shorting spring checks wiring continuity before device installation.

As part of the L-Series product line, the HWL-LF offers a versatile and easy-to-use range of low-frequency sounders and low-frequency sounder strobes, designed to meet virtually any application requirement. They feature white and red plastic housings, are listed for wall and ceiling mounting, and were designed to address the NFPA 72 sleeping space requirements.

The L-Series low-frequency sounders and low-frequency sounder strobes have plug-in designs, making installations fast and foolproof while minimizing ground faults. The devices have field-selectable candela settings, 24-volt operation, and a rotary switch for 520 Hz low frequency sounder tones, enabling installers to adapt devices to suit a wide range of application requirements.

In addition, the HWL-LF has a standard operating temperature range of 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C), a humidity range of 10 to 93% non-condensing, and a strobe flash rate of 1 flash per second. Its nominal voltage low-frequency sounder is regulated at 24 VDC/FWR1, with an operating voltage range of 16 to 33 V (24 V nominal). The device comes in a white color and has a country of origin of Mexico (subject to change).
